Humble Beginnings Cafe + Gift Shop opened its doors in October 2022 — born not from a grand business plan, but from a genuine desire to create a space where people could feel welcomed, nourished, and seen. Tucked into the ground floor of the Topaz Building along Kamias Road in Quezon City, the cafe started small, with a handful of tables, a warm interior, and a kitchen that would come to mean something to many.
The name says it all. The founders chose it deliberately — as a reminder that the most lasting things often grow from the smallest, most sincere starting points. Every item on the menu, from the coffee to the homemade siomai, is made with that philosophy in mind: not to impress, but to genuinely nourish. The drinks are sweetened with pamana sugar, raw sugarcane sugar passed down through a family's heritage, adding a quiet story to every cup.
The gift shop came naturally. What good is a heartfelt space without heartfelt things to bring home? The curated selection — greeting cards, keepsakes, stationery, and thoughtful finds — was assembled with the same care as the menu. If it doesn't feel like something worth giving, it doesn't belong on the shelf. Three years in, Humble Beginnings has grown into one of Kamias Road's most beloved community spots, with over 22,000 followers on Facebook and thousands of check-ins from guests who keep coming back.
